SKF Kata Coach

Applications are invited from qualified coaches who wish to be considered for the role of SKF Kata Coach. The post holder will form part of the current coaching team.

You will assist in all training sessions for the current elite squad and in conjunction with the coaching team make selections for events, as well as continued review of the elite squad.

You must be qualified to SKGB Coach level and have the relevant insurance in place for that role.

A valid Scottish Karate Federation Licence is essential.

Expenses are paid to all coaches when attending competitions outwith the country.

The SKF and CEK are delighted to announce the Scotland Squad for the Wado-Kai All Nations Championships in Leicester in August 2018.

East Whitburn Championships

23 January, 2018

Entry forms for the East Whitburn Katate Championships on Sunday 4th March are now available to download from the events page of the SKF website. The event will be held at Blackburn Community Centre, Ashgrove, Blackburn, EH47 7LJ.


SKF Kata and Kumite Championships

18 January, 2018

The SKF will hold a joint Kata and Kumite Championships on Sunday 18th March 2018 at Linlithgow Academy. This event is open to SKF members (with over 14 year old categories open to other SKGB members as well). There will be ASN Kickmaster and ASN Half Kata categories for members with Additional Support Needs.

Linlithgow, West Lothian.

We intend to provide 2 courses for ALL SKF members per year.

The courses will run for 2 hours, the format will be dictated by the numbers and levels of ability of those participating, it is envisaged that the group will be split into smaller groups as required with a separate section for those training for Dan Grade.

Please promote this course with your members it is FREE to anybody who holds a current SKF Licence. All attendees should bring their licence on the day.

Please confirm your attendance via your club instructor. An early reply would help planning.

AGM, Instructors Meeting and Officials Course

The Scottish Karate Federation will hold the following at the Hilcroft Hotel.
Annual General Meeting
0930 hours 14th January 2018
Instructor Meeting
1030 hours 14th January 2018
Officials Beginners Course
1300 hours 14th January 2018
The AGM is open to all members of the Federation. The instructors meeting is open to all instructors, office bearers, coaches, Child Protection Team and Sports Committee.
Can I ask at this time that any member who wishes to be nominated or re-nominated please submit your name to the secretary before the AGM.
The Officials Beginners Course is open to all who wish to get involved in the officiating side of karate, this course will go back to basics and cover the new rule changes.
Can I ask anyone wishing to attend this course again email their name ASAP. The course is open to all, (including SKF squad) members over the age of 14.

European Championships 2018

8 November, 2017

Anyone wishing to be selected for the European Under 21 Junior and Cadet Championships in Russia in February 2018 and also the European Senior Championships in Novi Sad Serbia in May 2018 must forward their CV to Gerry Fleming by Friday 24th of November. All seniors looking to attend the event in May will be expected to be involved in the pre-training for the under 21 Championships in February.
