European Wado Cup - Paris

Congratulations to all the SKF members who competed in the recent European Wado Cup in Paris. The SKF Scotland team won 14 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 8 bronze medals. Full results can be found here. Results of the Scottish Team can be found here.

5th Dan Promotion

Congratulations to Archie Russell who was promoted to the rank of 5th Dan at the recent SKF individual championships held at Meadowbank.

Shingo Ohgami Course

SKF members who regularly attend kata team pool were invited to participate in a course with Shingo Ohgami in Middlesbrough recently. Pictured is Sensei Shingo Ohgami with the Scottish Students.

Shobu Ippon Championships

Congratulations to the SKF members who competed at the recent Scottish Shobu Ippon Championships. The SKF won 4 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals. Full results can be found here. Pictured above are Calum Robb and Duncan Raeburn who were placed 1st and 2nd respectively in the men’s event.

World Junior and European Wado Squads

Congratulations to the following SKF members who have been selected to represent Scotland at the forthcoming World Junior and Cadet Championships: Mark Wylie, Craig Dickson, David Bolton, Aaron Wood, Chloe McLean, Steph Rodden and Lisa Cairns.

European Universities and British Open

Congratulations to Calum Robb who won two bronze medals at the European University Championships held in Podgorica, Montenegro recently.

Calum won bronze in both the Mens +80kg kumite and Mens open weight Kumite. Calum is a sports scholar from Heriot Watt University.

Calum also competed in the recent British Open Championships in London, winning a Gold Medal in the Mens Open Weight. He also fought in the Norwegian Team at the event winning himself another Gold Medal.

4th Dan Promotion

Congratulations to Lisa Rogers who was awarded the rank of 4th Dan at the recent SKF Team Event.
